Bigelow Grille chef to represent Pittsburgh at Taste of the NFL party02/02/2010 2:08:40 PM
By Pam Starr, FOR THE PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW Anthony Zallo is in Ft. Lauderdale right now, preparing for the Taste of the NFL party on Saturday, where the executive chef at the Bigelow Grille will showcase his Goat Cheese Pierogies and Crispy Pork Belly. This is the fourth year the Bigelow Grille has represented Pittsburgh in the fundraiser, and the second year that Zallo, 42, has been involved. The Super Bowl-related event, which attracts 3,000 guests every year, has raised more than $8 million and 72 million pounds of food for hunger-related charities across the country since its inception in 1992.
To be considered one of the best chefs in each of the 32 NFL cities is high praise for Zallo, who has been a professional chef for nearly 25 years and at the Bigelow Grille, Downtown, for two years. |
